Numéro Homme: Splash

Summer, it seems, is here - at least for bi-annual magazines. And even if all the outfits are tuxedos, the dominant color is still blue.

Summer palette: Yellow, green, red

I was so inspired by the outfit of a girl I photographed yesterday for my street style blog, La Folie Douce, that I replicated her color palette for my own outfit today. Very apt indeed for the increasingly warm and humid days of a ripening summer in the tropics.

Yellow v-neck tee, French Connection; fatigue cargo pants, Izzue; leather filigree belt, Brave Beltworks; sandals, Marlboro Classic; nylon messenger bag, Tumi; gold-plated automatic watch (not seen); Omega Seamaster

So this post introduces my gym locker snaps, which, together with my bed spread posts, comprise my "outfit" entries on days when I have no photographer (still have to get a tripod) or when I am just plain lazy. (Blame the heat.)

Folded and Hung welcomes Summer 2011

Folded and Hung Summer 2011_01

I know: as long as mornings stay cool in usually damp and sticky Manila, thoughts of summer seem far from our minds. But let's hope — fingers crossed — that the rains of La Niña pass by the time sandy beaches beckon once again.
So here's a taste of things to come, care of some shots from Folded and Hung's Summer 2010 runway show held last November.

The ensembles are a mix of hippie, grunge, and US west coast — all thrown into a heap of random Americana. Need I say Stephen King, LA, and even D&G and Prada?

Too bad I wasn't able to attend the show. F&H has improved leaps and bounds since it first opened shop. Keep it up!

vintage bathing suits...

Now that spring is finally here, I think it is time to look forward to summer :)

Summer means bathing suits (scary I know!). Vintage bathing suits were a whole lot less scary then the Victoria's Secret bikini's of today. I am a tiny girl, but I swear modern day bikini bottoms will just not cover my bum! So I have been dreaming of more modest, but still sexy vintage bathing suits. Take a peek at some of my favorites below...

I found all these lovelies on pinterest (which is still one of my new favorite things!)

What do you think about modern bikini's vs. vintage ones???

Also, know of anywhere a gal can find a vintage style bikini these days??
