H&M x Lookbook contest: The Blues
H&M wants to see your freshest and bluest style taken from their racks and hangers. Their competition collaboration with Lookbook invites you to post your blue looks on their contest page.
Among my favorites in the Top 50 looks are "Raindrops" (above) by John A., a 16-year-old photographer and digital artist from Toronto and "Drive my soul" (below, even if it has only 5 hypes!) by Tommy T., a 15-year-old from New Jersey.
(Even my post is blue with hyperlinks!)
The contest began last February 1 and will continue until March 17. Starting February 25, H&M stylists will choose five looks twice per week to be featured on the online campaign "The Blues". All winners will likewise receive 100 euros (about US$140) worth of gift certificates.
To enter the contest, all you have to do is submit a look with one or more H&M pieces, two or more of which are blue. H&M is looking for outfits where blue is dominant and is the color that pops out. Only one H&M item is necessary to qualify. Don't forget to tag respective H&M piece(s).
Read the rules before you enter!
Andreas Wijk from Gothenburg, Sweden
Dropped by Lookbook after I don't know how long. The first thing I noticed about Andreas's outfit were his Whyred knee patch pants, which remind me of jeans from Balmain Men.
Then his hair, his accessories. Swedish high street.
A denim version of the pants above in one of the many pictures on his blog. Andreas likes blazers too.
Play dress up.
You can tell since he has the same muffler in more than one color.
Though he has a sense of color, he does overdo his accessories. This outfit, for example, can do without the chain necklaces, or have them replaced at least with just one strand and a pendant.
What I appreciate is his black and white mix of leather and hardware, though I'm not a fan of blatant labels.
Lots of things you can do with these metal snakes, just be sure to take them singly or in pairs, and if you must wear a bib of chains, keep everything else simple.
Simple is always better, especially for menswear.
See what I mean?
He's also a fan of monochrome (background not included).
Fine, call me a matinee idol sell-out.
But his non-pop star moments are worth it.
It just takes a certain wash to roughen up his smooth edges.
Because apparently, Andreas has a big following in Sweden. I think.
The guy joined the country's version of American Idol.
But of course, even before that, he's always liked shopping.
His sound may be too pop for some, but he does have a great voice.
Did I already mention good color sense?
I will leave it to you to search him on YouTube, since I'm not a particular fan of electro-pop turned into ballads.
Let us just end with Andreas.
His love for Whyred, Filippa K, and H&M.
His mufflers and the years ahead of him.
That could see his taste mature.
From boyband...
Perhaps to style savant?
Super Sartorial Summer
H&M Advertorial
Super Sartorial Summer
Models: Bastiaan Ninaber, Vincent Lacrocq & Ryan B / Photographer: Benjamin Alexander Huseby
Thought this was a pretty humorous advertorial by H&M. Can you believe I've never been to a H&M store before? Well, that's coz they don't have one here in Singapore. I was so excited when I saw a H&M near where I was staying during my first trip to Hong Kong a couple years back. Except the store only opened on the day I left. So much for the excitement. The second time I was there, I didn't have time to go which was such a shame. Someone should totally bring H&M here, they'll have brisk business for sure.
Have a great weekend guys!=)
