Spring 2010 preview: Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Julius, and Juun J

Rick Owens

With the Dolce & Gabbana, Jil Sander, and other shows just done, and Burberry Prorsum upcoming shortly (may have already finished once I publish this), and as we all excitedly wait for the Milan pictures to come in, here are some preview images from Rick Owens, Julius, and Juun J, who will be showing in Paris, and a video teaser for Alexander McQueen's show in Milan on Sunday.

Julius

Before I got interested in fashion, the works of Japanese designers looked quite similar to me — pleated, deconstructed, layered, and overall street and edgy. Slowly I have gotten to know the differences between the big three: Yamamoto, Watanabe, and Kawakubo. Now I want to discover more designers, both established and young.

Tatsuro Horikawa founded Julius in 2001.

Juun J

Now Juun J may be a good start in developing my interest in Korean designers. After releasing several collections in Seoul, he brought his show to Paris Fashion Week for Spring 2008.

Alexander McQueen

Now for Alexander McQueen. Instead of parading models down the catwalk, he has decided to show a video for his Spring 2010 collection, following in the example of Yves Saint Lauren for Spring 2009. Below is a teaser of the film by David Sims.

Full trailer to be made available on alexandermcqueen.com on Monday.
