I've had several people ask me about my Superfine jeans. When I was living in LA, I was working as an assistant in a fashion retail store. I never really blogged about my "real job" because I wasn't sure if anyone from work was reading this. Even though it was a nightmare job at times, it was paying my way to live in LA and I didn't want to lose it because of something I said here. There were really strict rules about "what happens at Maxfield, stays at Maxfield" because of client confidentiality and silly little things like that. You would have thought we were dealing with national security issues! But no, it was just bratty celebrities and spoiled rich kids. The biggest perk of the job was "Christmas Credit". Every year I would get a set amount that I could spend in the store on whatever I wanted. So... mostly I racked up on staples that I could otherwise never afford. Like $285 Superfine jeans.
Now, I don't think I would ever go out and spend $285 on one piece of clothing, but I have to say these just might be worth it. I think they are the perfect jean. Super tight, but with just enough stretch, a slightly higher waist to avoid the heinous "muffin top" look and really simple back pockets. So much better than Cheap Mondays! If I bothered doing the math, I'm sure it would come out to just pennies per wear at this point.
So, if in the future you see some Lanvin or Balenciaga in my wardrobe remixes - no, I haven't won the lottery. It's just more swag from my old job. That's about the one thing I'm going to miss about that job.
